DeWayne Allen Colbart, age 66, of Bryan, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. DeWayne retired from Titan Tire after 40 years of service.
He began his career as a tire builder and later was a band builder. DeWayne enjoyed woodworking, gardening, golfing, fishing and was an avid sports fan, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, he enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren.
DeWayne was born on Aug. 10, 1959, in Hicksville, Ohio, the son of Richard Lee and Nora M. (Bell) Colbart. He was a 1977 graduate of Edon High School. He married Julie K. Spaw on Dec. 29, 1981, in Fremont, Ind., and she survives.
Along with his wife, DeWayne is survived by his sons, Jason (Jessica) Colbart, of Jonesville, Mich., and Nicholas (Jessica Maynard) Colbart, of Sherwood, Ohio; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, John (Valda Lee) Colbart, of Edon; sister, Kathleen Turkell, of Mentor, Ohio; and his mother, Nora M. Colbart, of Edgerton. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Colbart.
Visitation for DeWayne will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon, Ohio. A celebration of his life will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Doug Widdowson officiating. DeWayne will be laid to rest at Edon Cemetery in a private ceremony.
