DIVISION II & III BOYS GOLF DISTRICTS: Archbold’s Cahle Roth Qualifies For State Tournament After Round Of 70

OREGON – Archbold junior Cahle Roth shot a -2 under par 70 to finish as medalist and advance to the state tournament next week in Columbus.

Roth, whose scorecard included four birdies and just two bogeys, carded 35s on both the front and back nine and birdied his final hole of the day to take first place by two strokes.

Bryan came home sixth with a 332 led by Noah Huard who tied for eighth overall with a 78, missing the final individual qualifying spot by just two strokes.


Roth’s teammate Luke Rosebrook posted an 80 to tie for 15th.

In Division III at Stone Ridge Golf Course, Drake Sommer of Montpelier turned in a 79 to get into a playoff for the last state qualifying spot but lost to Adam Magers from Old Fort.

Montpelier totaled a 349 as a team to miss a state berth by just six strokes as Jaxon Richmond (85), Trent Thorp (91), and Easten Richmond (94) round out the scoring for the Locos.


Pettisville, who shared the BBC title with the Locos this season, put together a 355 to tie for eighth led by freshman Jack Leppelmeier with an 80 to tie for ninth overall.

Kaden Kennerk of Edgerton posted a 91 to tie for 46th and North Central’s Ben Pettit tied for 96th with a 105.
