Dona I. Restemayer

Dona-Restemayer-WEBDona I. Restemayer, 81 years, of Bryan, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, with her family at her bedside. Dona was born July 15, 1934 in Edgerton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Asa Edward and Bertha R. (Walley) Sanders. She married Glenn L. Restemayer on February 28, 1955 and he preceded her in death in 1971.
Moving from Toledo, Dona was employed by the former Bryan Nursing Center, and Parkview Nursing Center in Edgerton, working in the housekeeping department and as nursing assistant for 29 years, retiring on December 31, 1999. Dona enjoyed crocheting and sewing clothing for her family. She especially cherished her time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her four children, Carl D. (Deanna) Restemayer of Curtice, Ohio, James E. (Patricia) Restemayer of Springfield, Tennessee, David M. Restemayer of Fremont, Indiana and Iris A. Restemayer of Bryan, Ohio; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glenn; two grandchildren, Mark Perry and Joshua G. Restemayer; two brothers, Asa “Junior” Sanders, and Don Sanders, and one sister, June Ensman.

Visitation for Dona I. Restemayer will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan where her funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Scannell officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery, Bryan.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial donations be given to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, 6825 State Route 66 North, Defiance, Ohio 43512.
