Donald Budd (1930-2021)

Donald E. Budd, age 91, of Kunkle, Ohio, passed away at 1:28 P.M. on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

Donald worked as a truck driver, at Campbell’s Soup Factory and the Bryan and Angola Speedways. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things.

He attended the Kunkle United Brethren Church and was a member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge and was a Golden Eagle member of Bryan Eagles.

Donald E. Budd was born on April 20, 1930, in Deshler, Ohio, the son of William Ervin and Thelma Louise (Rambo) Budd. He married Jean L. Kolk on June 7, 1986 in Bryan and she survives.


Donald is also survived by his children, D. E. Budd, of Edon, Rebecca (Luka) Schemenauer, of Hartford, Michigan, Tina Churchill, of Newnan, Georgia, Donna Lovejoy, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Melanie Moore, of Conway, South Carolina, Janna (David) Harness, of Crossville, Tennessee, Whitney (Annette) Budd, of Sykesville, Maryland, Donald Budd, of Sandusky, Ohio, Robert (Jodi) Budd, of Addison, Michigan, Christina Budd, of Montpelier; stepchildren, Cherie (Keith) Chastain, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Janelle Davis, of Kunkle; 36 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Judy Brenzo, of Norwalk. Ohio and brothers, Homer Budd, of Ottawa, Ohio and Ronald Budd, of Grand Rapids, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepson; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters and many loved ones.

Donald selflessly donated his body to the University of Toledo Medical Center to further medical education.


A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Kunkle United Brethren Church with Dr. Dan VanArsdalen officiating. Services have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio.

Memorials are requested to the family.
