Donna I. Cooper

Donna I. Cooper, 87 years, of Bryan, and formerly of Savannah, Georgia, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 in her home with her sisters by her side. Donna was born February 23, 1929 in Defiance, Ohio the daughter of the late David L. and Kathryn M. (Hipp) McLain. She was a 1947 graduate of Morenci High School and continued her education at Defiance College and Albion College. Donna married Robert H. Cooper on April 23, 1949 in Angola, Indiana and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2008.

Donna was a member of First Lutheran Church, Bryan. She was also a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She enjoyed volunteering at the library on Skid Away Island where she was known as “The Book Lady.”

Surviving are her two sisters, Sue C. Miller of Bryan, Trudy (Keith) Day both of Bryan; sister-in-law Lois (Jim) Eis of Defiance, as well as nine nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert.

Private Memorial Services for Donna I. Cooper will be held Friday, June 17, 2016 in First Lutheran Church, 210 North Cherry Street, Bryan, with Pastor Richard Franks, officiating. Private interment will be made in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to First Lutheran Church, 210 North Cherry Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506, Williams County Humane Society, 09464 County Road 13, Bryan, Ohio 43506 or Community Health Professionals Visiting Nurses and Hospice, 127 Blakeslee Avenue, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
