donna meyers WEBDonna Stacey Meyers, 84, died Wednesday night at her home in Brady Township, surrounded by those who loved her. She was born on June 15, 1928 in Brady Township to Millard E.W. Cliffton and Audrey MayBelle (Held) Stacey. Donna was a resident of Millcreek Township for most of her life, graduating from West Unity High School in 1946.

Donna grew up on the family farm where she worked diligently in the day-to-day operations. In 1941 her father became a Massey-Harris dealer on this Brady Township farm. Moving the business to Burlington, Ohio in 1946, it became Stacey Farm Supply, where she worked for several years, becoming a part owner, until its closure in 1965.

On September 14, 1958, at West Franklin United Methodist Church she married Leland Junior Meyers, who survives her. After her marriage to Leland she dedicated her labors to the family farm in Brady Township.

Donna was a member of the West Franklin United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. This organization held a special place in her heart and she loved to give back to the church through compiling a monthly newsletter, serving as church Historian, hosting quilting days, and involvement in church activities. Donna was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Scout David Williams Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Williams County Genealogical Society, and a past member of the Williams County Historical Society.

Later in life she devoted her days to her grandchildren, sharing their lives however possible. She especially enjoyed celebrating their achievements in school and community activities. Genealogy was a lifelong interest and as a part of her many years of research she was able to make the connection to the Borton Family Tree which, in 1976, was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest family tree in existence.

Donna was always willing to lend a helping hand and assisted several elderly friends in completing their household tasks. She also had a great fondness for animals, often surrounded by pet cats and geese.

Donna is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leland Junior Meyers; a daughter Pamela (Elroy) Schroeder of Montpelier and three sons: Daniel (Debra) Meyers of West Unity, David (Lisa) Meyers of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and Daren (Shelly) Meyers of West Unity; eleven grandchildren: Katherine, Benjamin, Nicholas, and Samuel Schroeder of Montpelier, Dustin (Anissa) and Derek Meyers of West Unity, Alec and Brooke Meyers of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Tiffany, Nathan, and Jacqueline Meyers of West Unity; a great grandson, Dalton Meyers of West Unity; a brother, Paul (Mary) Stacey of Toccoa Falls, Georgia; a sister, Onalee Burkhard of Bryan, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons, Timothy Schroeder and Devan Meyers.

Visitation hours for Donna will be on Saturday, January 19th from 2-8 pm at the West Franklin United Methodist Church in rural West Unity. Services will be on Sunday at 3 pm at the church, with visitation at 2 pm. Reverend Michael D. Raypholtz to officiate. Interment will follow at West Franklin Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Williams County Genealogical Society or West Franklin U.M. Church. Condolences may be sent online to thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
