Doris-M.-Boetz-WEBDoris M. Boetz, age 87, of Stryker, passed away Thursday morning, January 7, 2016 at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon. She had worked for the telephone company as a switchboard operator and then at Metal Forge in Stryker, where she retired, after 35 years.

Doris was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on May 1, 1928, the daughter of Fred M. and Leona (Norris) Wilcox. On august 28, 1971 she married Maurice D. Boetz, and he preceded her in death in 2015. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bryan where she was active with the Ladies Missionary Circle.

Surviving are her son; Anthony (Meta) Fitzenrider of Bryan; step-children, Daniel (Pam) Boetz of Stryker, Diane (Matthew) Gloor of Napoleon, David (Deb) Boetz of Bryan, Doty Schmidt of Bryan; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three half-sisters Donna Hitt and Carmon Leupp of Stryker, and Avery Playford of Sarasota, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice, two sons, Tom and Tim Fitzenrider; and four brothers, Junior, Robert, Fred, and Richard Wilcox.

Visitation for Doris will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker. The funeral will immediately follow with the Rev. John MacFarlane, officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Stryker, at a later date.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to the Van Ministry of the First Baptist Church in Bryan.  [showad block=2]
