August 26th-MORENCI, MI: With the Blackbirds and Eagles in town, the battle for air supremacy took center stage at Demore Hills Golf Course.
The Blackbirds of Pettisville faced off against the Eagles of Fayette in Morenci. Fayette proved to be too big an obstacle for them, however, as the Eagles took the match by 40 strokes, scoring a 186. Pettisville shot 226 as a team.
Mike Brubaker took home medalist honors on Fayette’s behalf, firing a 43. Travis Wagner and Jaryd White both turned in a score of 47. Justin White put up a 49 to complete the scoring for the Eagles.
Pettisville’s Evan King swung his way to a 49, the best of any Blackbird on the day. Matt Krill was nipping at his heels, shooting a 50. Hannah Meller shot a 57, and Andrew Canada a 70 to add to the Blackbird total.
