The Edgerton Board of Education held their May general session on the 16th at 6 p.m. Present were Board members Lyn Bowsher, Amanda Giesige, Nick Hug, Robert Siebenaler, and Bill Swank.

Also present were Superintendent Kermit Riehle, Treasurer Bill Blakely, High School Principal Ben Wilhelm, and Elementary School Principal Brett Grieser.

The family of Evelyn Radabaugh was thanked before the board heard and accepted the treasurer’s report, which consisted of cost analysis and financial statements, before they accepted all of the superintendent’s recommendations as presented.

Most of these recommendations were updates for next school year, personnel recommendations, as well as this years’ list of graduating seniors.

Heidi Meyer was commended for the girls 100 and 300 hurdles; Gretchen Keppeler was commended for girls shot put and discus; and Charlotte Blalock was given an honorable mention for girls discus.

Also commended were: Owen Roth, who received honorable mentions for the boys 100 and 200 dashes; Carter Herman, for the boys 110 and 300 hurdles; Caden Sinclair with an honorable mention for the boys 110 hurdles; and Dakota Burke, for the boys pole vault.

The superintendent’s report most notably contained details of future campus improvement endeavors and their estimated completion costs, which are presented as follows:

Annex ceiling, $15,585; wrestling room, $8,340; softball sound system, $1,750; cell phone booster, $3,800; and manhole repair, $1,000.

After hearing end-of-year updates from the principals, the board held two executive sessions. The first one, for the appointment and evaluation of personnel, began at 6:02 p.m. with all five board members, Mr. Riehle, and Mr Wilhem attending.

At 6:26 p.m., the board went into recess. The second executive session was called to order at 7:50 p.m., again with all five board members, Mr. Riehle, Mr. Grieser and now Mr. Blakely present, and was held for appointment or evaluation of personnel, property purchase or sales, and confidential matters.

Mr. Gireser left the executive session at 8:18 p.m., and the remaining attendees exited the executive session at 8:42 p.m., adjourning the May 16, 2023 meeting at 8:43 p.m.
