Edgerton School Board Hears FFA Commendations

Administrative recommendations approved at the Edgerton School Board December 21, 2020 meeting included:

  • Appoint president pro tem for organizational meeting (Board appointed Bob Siebenaler)
  • Set Monday, January 11, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. as organizational meeting with regular to follow
  • Approve 2019-2020 Drug Use Prevention Grant Final Report Certification reporting period of 2/1/20 – 8/31/20
  • Approve 20-21 NwOESC Business Advisory Council Plan
  • District Evaluators for 20-21:  Kermit Riehle, Superintendent; Bret Grieser, K-6 Principal; and Ben Wilhelm 7-12 Principal
  • 20-21 Interagency Agreement among Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission:  NOCAC Head Start/Early Head Start in Williams County; Williams County Local Education Agencies:  Williams County Early Intervention, and Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center Districts
  • Approve the repair of the Wrestling Facility at the cost of $13,650 with Nye Roofing and Insulation
  • FFA Commendations:  FFA ParliPro got First in Sub-districts; ParliPro got 6th in Districts; Wildlife got 4th in Districts and 47th in State; Food Science got 2nd in Districts and 26th in State; Fruit Sales were in excess of $20,000
  • Donations:  $200 from Richard and Sharon Kepler in memory of Sharolee Kepler Huet from Class of 1983 to STEAM Project; 50 Bulldog Sock Caps from Jodi Herman to be Distributed in Bulldog Bags; and Moving of the Elementary Pride Rock by Perry Excavating

Personnel recommendations which were approved:

  • Current NwOESC sub lists for paraprofessionals and teachers
  • 2020-21 Supplemental Contract for Ashley Grieser as Track Varsity Assistant
  • 2021-22 Supplemental Contracts for Samantha Levin Volleyball Varsity;  Krista Pahl Volleyball Assistant Varsity;  Jason Zumbaugh Cross Countyr Varsity;  Jordan Karnes Cross Country JH;  Toby Kennerk Golf Varsity;  Brody Flegal Football Varsity and Summer Strength Advisor;  Carl Sonneberger, Brock Thiel, Jordan Bower and Chase McClellan Football Assistant Varsity;  Jeremy Goebel Football JH; and Skippie Muehlfeld Football 5th and 6th;  Volunteers – Stephanie Bexten Athletic Dept. Volleyball and Jacob Ferrebee AD Cross Country
  • Madison Stockman as long-term substitute 3rd grade teacher during the 20-21 school year
  • Jackalyn Siebenaler as an Elementary Student Teacher in the Special Education Department

In his report, Superintendent Riehle reported that the current Enrollent, district wide is at 580 students. He also shared Consortium Substitute Staff Trends, 20-21 SpEd profile and Rating.  Potential district projects are Annex door locks ($4294), Chromebooks for 21-22 school year ($28,000), Pride Rock and flag poles ($2960), Annex Basketball hoops for South unit (($8648) and for North Unit with remote basket ($3586)

He presented the 21-22 School Calendar which will be voted upon at the January organizational meeting.  He and Mr. Wilhelm will be in the Doctorate Program with University of Findlay with 25% classes exempt with superintendent licensure. Brett Grieser, Ben Wilhelm and Shari Saneda also gave reports for the Board.
