The Edgerton Village Council held their meeting on Wednesday, December 18th. The meeting began at 5:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Council members first moved to approve minutes from the previous meeting held on December 4th.
The mayor’s report followed next with Robert Day wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. He further asked that everyone be safe during the holidays, while also enjoying the time with their family. Administrator Dawn Fitzcharles was then next to give an update and stated that a joint agreement was filed.
Fitzcharles explained that the judge from the Williams County Common Pleas Court signed off on the issue of the St. Joseph Fire Levy between the Williams County Board of Elections and the St. Joseph Township contesters, and an agreement has been made that the issue will go on the ballot in May and all costs will go to the Board of Elections.
Fiscal Officer Knecht then went over credit card statements for the period 11-16-2024 to12-15-2024 before informing council that there will be one more check run at the end of the year to clean up some open purchase orders and avoid carryover.
Next, council moved to approve the following items. A motion to approve the revenue receipt from the Ohio Department of Development and issue payment as a Then and Now purchase for invoice #84948 to August Mack Environmental in the amount of $44,448.34 for the Edgerton Metals Brownfield Remediation Project for project invoices through November 10th, 2024.
A motion to pay the bills as presented. A motion to approve the re-appointment of the 2025 Volunteer Firefighters Dependent Fund Board Members, including Chief Scott Blue, Assistant Chief Bob Adkins, Mayor Robert Day, Denise Knecht and Mike Krill.
A motion to approve the preliminary engineering services agreement with Norfolk Southern for PID 119800, a motion to approve the 2025 MARCS Grant agreement for radio subscription fees, and a motion to accept the CDL Ohio Workforce Development Board Reimbursement agreement.
Council then moved on to approve the following legislative actions. Resolution 2024-015 for the Village of Edgerton to support the Ohio Commission for the United States Semi-Quincentennial.
The village will be looking to put together a group of individuals that will be able to find ways to celebrate in the Village of Edgerton through one or many events.
The third reading of Ordinance 1146 establishing the permanent appropriations for year 2025. The third reading of Ordinance 1147 establishing the salaries and wages for the employees of the Village of Edgerton, Ohio.
With no other items to attend to, the meeting was adjourned at 5:52 p.m.
