EDGERTON VILLAGE COUNCIL: Mayor Updates Council On Progress Of Oak Street Project

PROJECT UPDATE … Mayor Bob Day reported to council that the Oak Street project, shown above, is progressing well.

The Edgerton Village Records Commission meeting preceded the council meeting on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 at 5:20 pm.

Mayor Bob Day began the meeting with The Pledge of Allegiance and prayer. roll call began with Fiscal Officer Denise Knecht, citizen Greg Jennings, and council members Sharon Blinzler, Jason Gruver, Lance Bowsher, Leslie VanAusdale, and Pam Wampler present.

The commission approved the minutes from the January 17th, 2024 meeting, and the status update is that the 2016 records have been destroyed according to the RC-2 form (records retention schedule) approved by the Edgerton Village Council on January 17th, 2024, and returned by Ohio History Connection with signed approval. The 2017 records will be assessed and brought for approval at the next meeting.

The Records Commission Meeting adjourned at 5:29 pm; the next meeting is on January 15th, 2025 at 5:20 pm.

The council meeting then followed at 5:30pm as Mayor Day began the meeting with The Pledge of Allegiance and prayer. Roll call got underway with council members Sharon Blinzler, Jason Gruver, Lance Bowsher, Leslie VanAusdale, Pam Wampler, Fiscal Officer Denise Knecht, Chief of Police Ken Jacob, and a few members from the community present.

Council member Chuck Wallace was absent, and Village Administrator Dawn Fitzcharles joined remotely by phone.

Next up was the approval of the meeting minutes from August 7th, 2024. Gruver motioned to approve, seconded by Blinzler.

Mayor Day reported that the Oak Street Project was going well and he didn’t have anything more to report. Dawn Fitzcharles joined remotely and didn’t have anything to report.

Fiscal Officer Denise Knecht passed out the bills and receipts for the council to review.

She also informed the council members that some residents might receive letters concerning R.I.T.A. and anyone with questions should be directed to contact the Village office for information and assistance.

Next on the agenda is the second reading of Village of Edgerton Ordinance No 1143, an ordinance providing for a dedication plat of Stadium Drive Extension. Wampler moved to approve, seconded by Bowsher.

Next was Village of Edgerton Resolution number 2024-013, a resolution authorizing the village administrator to prepare and submit an application to participate in the Ohio Public Works Commission State Capitol Improvement and/or local transportation Improvement programs and to execute contracts as required. VanAusdale motioned to approve, seconded by Wampler.

The meeting adjourned at 5:36 pm. The next village council meeting is set for September 4th at 5:30 pm.
