The Edon Northwest Board of Education held their meeting on Monday, December 13th at 5:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the recognition of visitors.
The board next moved to approve the minutes for the previous meeting that took place on November 8th as well as the financial reports for the month of November.
An amended certificate was then approved as well as several donations that were made to the school. Approval was then given for the November substitute list as presented from the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center.
The board then moved to approve the 2022 Ohio School Boards Association membership dues at a total of $3,856, annual OSBA briefcase for free, and the school management news for $150.
Reports to the board were then given including the treasurers report, report from the high school principal, elementary principal and the superintendent. The following items were discussed by the superintendent.
An update on the school’s enrollment status, mid-year bus inspection results, state fire marshal’s annual inspection, the emergency management exercise that took place on December 8th, and the Leanne Field home bleacher project.
The board then approved a revised resolution to accept the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorized the necessary tax levies and certified them to the county auditor.
The resignation of Sharon Hunt was accepted and will be effective at the end of the 2021-2022 contract year. The resignation of Katlyn Walker was also accepted and is effective immediately.
The recommendation to approve the local graduation seals as presented was approved followed by the appointment of a Board President Pro Tem for the organizational meeting.
Cody Best was chosen, and the meeting was set for January 10th at 5:00 p.m. with the regular board meeting following after at 5:30 p.m. The board then discussed executive session before adjourning for the evening.
