Cloudy skies and cool temperatures were no match for the excitement of those participating in the Fourth Annual T.O.P.S. Walk-A-Thon held Friday, October 5, 2012 at Edon Northwest Local Schools.  Sponsored by Teachers Onboard with Parents and Students, students from Preschool through Grade 6 collected donations in support of their energizing morning walk around campus.

Thanks to everyone’s efforts, over eight hundred dollars was raised for the club to continue its work in providing Accelerated Reader prizes, needed classroom materials, etc. for students while also offering support to teachers.  In the past, funds have been used to purchase a laminator, video equipment and benches for the school’s perennial garden; they’ve also provided support to the Junior/Senior Prom and Music Department’s annual musical production.

Once again, top students raising the most money were rewarded for their efforts.  Receiving one hundred-dollar Wal-Mart Gift Cards were Third graders Allison Kaylor and Ashley Kaylor; each collected one hundred four dollars in pledges for the annual event.

If you would like to learn more about T.O.P.S. or how you can assist with future fundraising efforts, feel free to contact Tina Parrish at Edon Northwest Local Schools (419-272-3213).
