Councilor Roxana Nester was elected president as Edon Village Council conducted its first meeting of 2013 on Monday, January 21 at Village Hall Chambers. Joining her for the regular monthly session were members Duane Thiel, Richard Chapin, Chuck Bidwell, Sam Steffes, Mayor Darlene Burkhardt, Fiscal Officer Heidi Bidwell and Solicitor Tom Thompson; not answering roll was Councilman Lamar Kline.
In reorganizing for 2013, Council approved retaining the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. as the date and time for regular monthly meetings and volunteered for the following Committees:
- Finance ~ Chuck Bidwell, Sam Steffes, Richard Chapin
- Safety ~ Richard Chapin, Lamar Kline, Chuck Bidwell
- Street ~ Roxana Nester, Lamar Kline, Duane Thiel
- Park ~ Duane Thiel
- Cemetery ~ Roxana Nester (last term)
With Council geared up for the new year, Mayor Burkhardt went on to deliver her 2012 State of the Village of Edon Address before proceeding with the evening’s full agenda.
