Edwin Ross Wyrick, 88, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Waterford Assisted Living in Perrysburg, Ohio.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, uncle and friend to many.

Edwin was a calm and loving man who loved his family and friends and enjoyed the life he built in northwest Ohio. He was born on June 16, 1937, in Montpelier to Henry S. and Gladys O. (Alleman) Wyrick.

Edwin graduated from Alvordton High School in 1955 and later received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Ohio Northern University.

On Sept. 15, 1962, Edwin married Dianne Fletcher at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier, Ohio, and they resided in West Unity where he was a Construction Engineer for the Ohio Department of Transportation.

In 1970, the couple moved to Archbold, Ohio, and at that time he became Fulton County Engineer, the public service position he held until 1996. Edwin had a distinguished engineering career as he was both a Professional Engineer and Professional Surveyor.

Along with over 30 years of service in Fulton County, he was also the Ohio Department of Transportation District 2 Deputy Director. He then worked for and consulted with multiple engineering firms throughout Ohio, most notably The Mannik & Smith Group, Wolpert Engineering and Ericsson Engineering.

He was a long-time member of Clay Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Alvordton and St. John’s Christian Church in Archbold. He participated in and hosted a small group (The Seekers), bible studies and served on many planning and administrative committees at both churches.

In 2004 he participated in a life-changing mission trip to Kajiado, Kenya, where he helped to start an orphanage and school. Also, after hurricane Katrina, from 2005-2010 he made several trips to Biloxi, Mississippi, through Back Bay Mission, to assist with cleanup and recovery.

Edwin was a member of the Freemasons, as well as the Ohio Northern University Alumni Organization and was an active member in several professional and trade organizations throughout Ohio.

Edwin had many hobbies including oil and acrylic painting, woodworking, gardening and general handyman work. He was also an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Indiana basketball.

In 1996, Ed and Dianne purchased the historic Murbach house on North Defiance Street in Archbold, where they enjoyed renovating, decorating, gardening and entertaining family and friends.

Surviving are his loving children Dean Alan Wyrick (Laura) of Perrysburg, Ohio and Curtis Edwin Wyrick (Molly) of Monclova, Ohio. He is also survived by grandchildren Allison (Wyrick) Reddick (James), Emily (Wyrick) Mack (Robert Austin), Kyle David Wyrick (Charlotte), Madeline Jane Wyrick (Grant Kudzia) and Benjamin Henry Wyrick; great-grandchildren Owen James Reddick, Mae Allison Mack, Wesley Dean Reddick and Grace Emery Mack; nieces Christine (Rozell) Kirk, Denise (Rozell) Muehfeld, Becky Jo Brown and nephew Kelby William Brown, in addition to many great nieces and nephews.
