Emma Geraldine Brinkman, age 88, of Wauseon passed away on October 21, 2023. She spent her life caring for her family and her home.
Emma was born on December 11, 1934 in Saginaw, MI, to the late William and Emma (Sian) LaLone. On June 27, 1955, she married Wilfred Brinkman, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2021.
Emma loved to garden and feed the birds. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Emma is survived by her daughter, Rose Hutchinson of Texas, Ohio; daughter, Kay Brown of Midland, MI; daughter, Sharon (James) Bigley of Wauseon; daughter, Cindy (Ricky) Riegsecker of Delta; son, Wilfred Jay Brinkman, Jr. of Wauseon; and daughter, Kathy (Tom) Cole of Delta. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred; parents; son-in-law, Joe Brown; granddaughters, Lakeisha and Sonya Brown; and all of her siblings.
Visitation for Emma will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon from 1pm to 5pm. A time of food and fellowship will follow visitation at the Wauseon American Legion on Wednesday. Inurnment will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Wauseon Union Cemetery, at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the benevolence of the family.
