The Evergreen Board of Education held their meeting on Monday, September 18th. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance before the Board moved to approve minutes from the special and regular board meetings held on August 21st, as well as the August 2023 financial reports. A list of donations were approved next as well as an FY24 grant.
Board members then established the district in-state tuition rate for the 2023-2024 school year at $12,434.65 and out-of-state tuition rate at $15,739.22.
Numerous personnel recommendations were approved next, including the resignation of Jerry Keifer, EHS teacher and basketball coach, effective May 31st, 2024, for the purpose of retirement.
An adjustment to the 2023-2024 school calendar was approved next and included a move of the October 20th teacher workday (no school for students) to October 6th, 2023.
Additionally, a service agreement was approved with New Horizon’s Academy at Sara’s Garden to provide educational services for special education students for the 2023-2024 school year at a cost of $16,222.00.
Additional discussions then took place regarding the income tax renewal levy vote coming on November 7th, an update on the school’s safety and security systems, and a Veterans Day program scheduled for November 10th.
With no other information being discussed it was moved by the board to adjourn the meeting. The next meeting will take place on October 16th at 6:00 p.m.
