Fayette FFA Members Prepare For Upcoming Events

In the past month the FFA members have been busy planning and getting ready for different events. The students worked hard and learned that hard work does pay off in the end. They spent numerous hours practicing for different events in the morning before school and afternoon after school. These events include: Livestock Judging, Equine, Poultry, and Wildlife.

Subscriptions cover our costs to attend local events; bringing forth Hometown News Coverage to our communities.”]The team of Spencer Keefer, Patty Hookstadt, Alec Hylander, Miranda Minzey, Noelle Goodson and Nik Wyatt competed in the Wildlife Contest. The team placed 16th in the district and the team placed 36th overall among all teams.

The team of Ryan Gilmore, Ceairia Keller, Isaiah Garett and Bailey Starasinich competed in the Poultry Contest. They placed 9th in the district and 13th overall.

The team of Carli Sly, Adrianna Hibbard, Alexis Fruchey and Zayne Colegrove competed in the Equine Contest. They placed 4th in the district and 8th overall.
The team of Seth Beaverson, Wade Burkholder, Cole Burkholder, Jorden Douglass, Rylee Ruger, Kelsey Fruchey, Thalia Cabrera, Emma Adams, Alexis Mapes, Mason Maginn, Kaela Seiler, Thomas Ehman, Noah Logston, Mckenzie Shaffner, Emilie Keiser, Bryce Conklin, Kaelyn Borton, Joel Smith, Haley Perdue, Gavin Liechty and Andrew Lichtenwald competed in the Livestock Judging Contest. They placed 14th in the district and placed 24th overall.


Many of these students will turn around on April 6th, 2013 and compete in these contests again at the State level. At this level students not only get to judge again but they are able to reconnect with many of the friends they have met throughout the year at various other FFA activities and events.

The Outdoor Power Equipment team of Nik Wyatt, Daniel Michael and Joel Smith competed at the Four County Career center. This team was challenged with the task of trouble shooting a small engine, part and tool identification, a team electoral activity, various precision measurements and disassembly and reassembly of valves of a small engine. This team placed 5th in the district.
