Fayette Mounts Comeback To Beat Stryker On Senior Night

(October 7th, 2014)-FAYETTE: After falling behind early in the match, the Lady Eagles of Fayette were able to rally, defeating the visiting Panthers of Stryker. The win will preserve a positive memory in the minds of Fayette seniors as they celebrated their senior night.

The Lady Eagles found themselves on the wrong end of a tight 25-23 score in game 1. Yet they turned their fortunes around, winning the next three sets to claim the match. Fayette began their comeback in game 2, taking the set 25-14. Game 3 saw Stryker unable to slow down the Lady Eagle attack, losing the set 16-25. The fourth set was the stage for which the Eagles completed their dramatic and emotional surge, winning the set and the match 25-18.

Maddie Uribes led the way for Stryker with 10 assists, 7 kills, and 2 blocks. Audra Rupp added 9 kills and 7 blocks for the Panthers. Teammates Brittany Breier and Brooke Whitlock contributed 5 kills a piece in the defeat as well.

Jessie Wheeler and Michaela Bates were at the forefront of the Lady Eagle assault, making 10 kills a piece. Hannah Machacek set things up for the Fayette offense with 36 assists and 9 digs. McKenzie Schaffner added 23 digs in the victory as well.
