Fayette School Board Hears About New Business Development In Gorham Township

Zoom and other online meeting formats continue to be busy. Fayette School Board held their May 11, 2020 meeting via Zoom, with all Board members present. Also present were Superintendent Angela Belcher, Treasurer Kelly Bentley, High School Principal Jon Molter, Elementary Principal Allie Reucher, Technology Coordinator Rebecca Short and Cliff Sher from 7X Energy.

Sher presented the new business development in Gorham Township and explained how it will benefit the school and community.

The board voted to approve the minutes of the April 13, 2020 regular meeting, the financial report for April 2020 and the updated Five Year Forecast and supporting notes for FY20.

Also approved were:


  • A donation of paint supplies valued at $500 from Shawn Langenderfer for painting the storage trailer in the athletic fields
  • Extended time beyond the contract year for 2020-21 fiscal year (up to but not to exceed) for Janna Ballmer in Guidance for 15 days; Pam Schultz with Ag/FFA for 45 days and Kalley Schaefer with Ag/FFA for 15 days.
  • The Following certified employees for contracts as listed:  Mariah Downing 2 year Spec. Ed-Elem; Rita Fernandez 2 year Foreign Language; Jenna Gordon 2 year Pre School;  Aaron Hylander 2 year Social Studies; Tim Morr 2 year Spec Ed-Elem;  Jaime Rupp 2 year Pre School;  Catherine Sohnly 1 year Language Arts;  John Sorrell 1 year Integrated Science; Dylan Worley 2 year Math.
  • Aaron Hylander for summer school instructor June 1-12, 2020 at a rate of pay of $20.00 per hour.
  • Hylant Group to provide Property Insurance coverage through Ohio School Plan in the amount of $22,129 beginning July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.
  • Approve the list of seniors for graduation for 2020 pending their completion of all requirements necessary to graduate from Fayette High School:  Jose Villa Aguilar, Marcus Michael Asbury, Addisyn Arlene Bentley, Rayn Marie Bingham, Noah Jerome Bingman, Noah James Brinegar, Caden Ray Colegrove, Faith Ann Curlis, Ashton Laura Dominique, Jillian Bei Figgins, Jacob Andrew Garrow, Zoee Serene Keiser-Daughter, Tanner Jacob Lemley, Taylor Mae Locke, Kaia Lynne Cassidy Lynch, Montgomery Gabriel Maginn, Nathaniel Brandon Xavier McVay, Brett Andrew Merillat, Stephen Ray Munguia, Jacob Brian Myers, Christian Michael Plummer, Luis Fernando Rangel Ortiz, McKenna Marie Shade, Arion Skye Smith, Maleke Dewayne Tenzy, Jaxsen Mitchell Wentz and Madalynn Jean Wilson

Reports and updates were given by Superintendent, Treasurer, HS and Elem. Prinicipals, Technology Coordinator and the Wellness Committee.
