Florence E. Strobel (1927 – 2016)

florence-e-strobelFlorence E. Strobel, 89, of Montpelier passed away Thursday at Hillside Country Living in rural Bryan. She was born on March 15, 1927 in Bryan to Wesley and Martha (Earlson) Lyons. She married Charles S. Strobel and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2002.

Florence was a homemaker and a member of the Montpelier Church of the Nazarene and the Montpelier Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son Charles “Charley” Strobel of Montpelier; three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two brothers, LeRoy Lyons and Richard Lyons; and two sisters, Annabelle West and Mary Jane Ridenour.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, brothers Clarence “Clarys” Lyons and Ralph Lyons, and sisters Margaret Stull, Donna Smith and Kathryn Smith.


Graveside services for Florence will be on Monday, November 28th at 1pm at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Memorial Contributions may be made to Montpelier Church of the Nazarene.
