Florence M. Nash (1927 – 2015)

Florence M Nash WEBFlorence Mae (Griesinger) Nash of Delta, passed away at her home on March 18, 2015, at the age of 87, resulting from a stroke. She was born on August 22, 1927 in Pike Township, Fulton County Ohio. She was the daughter of John H. and Mary M. (Godden) Griesinger. Florence graduated from Delta High School and was married to Steven P. Nash on October 6, 1945.

Florence was a homemaker and she also reupholstered furniture. She enjoyed baking pies for family and friends, playing cards, word puzzles, quilting, crocheting, embroidery and attending the county fairs to watch horse racing. She was also a dedicated Cleveland Indians fan and a collector of salt and pepper shakers.

Surviving are children David (Ann) Nash of Delta, Brenda (Joe) Stearns of Fostoria, Daryl Nash of Kissimmee FL , Roger (Peggy) Nash of Orlando FL, Teresa (Len) Williams of Wauseon, Laura (Ron Seedorf) Snow of Liberty Center, Allen Nash of Delta; Grandchildren: Eric (Portia) Stearns, Kathy Stearns, Brian (Meredith) Nash, Lisa Nash, Heather Nash, Steven Nash, Austin Nash, Paul (Elysha) Snow, Philip Snow, AJ Seedorf; Great-Grandchildren: Avery Nash, Colby Nash, Cameron Snow and Elliott Stearns; Brothers Charles (Ruth) Griesinger of Delta, Kenny (Sheila) Griesinger of Riga MI, along with many nieces and nephews.

Florence was proceeded in death by her husband Steven, an infant son Paul, her parents, siblings Flossie Griesinger, Lavern Shambarger, Marvin Griesinger, Orra Griesinger and Gladys McBride.
Friends will be received on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.; where a funeral service celebrating Florence’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday also at the funeral home. Rev. Don Krieger will be officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Delta.


The family requests memorial donations be made to Senior Independence Hospice of Toledo, 1730 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43614; the Fulton County Senior Center, 240 Clinton St., Wauseon, Ohio 43567 or an organization of donor’s choice.
