Four County Board Of Education Holds 2017 Organizational Meeting

On January 5, 2017 the Four County Career Center Board of Education held a meeting of The Financial Committee at 5:30 p.m., followed by the January ”Organizational” and “Regular” Meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at Four County Career Center.

During the organizational meeting, Brian Baker was elected to serve as President, while Larry Fruth was elected as Vice-President. Mr. Baker was also selected as the Legislative Liaison.

The board also agreed to hold meetings of the Four County Career Center Board of Education on the third Thursday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at Four County Career Center for the 2017 calendar year.

As part of the Treasurer’s Report, the Board approved:
•December Meeting Minutes.


•Financial statements and investments for the month of December as presented.

•The FY 18 Tax Budget for Four County Career Center as presented.

•Appropriation Modifications as presented.


•The advance of $10,000.00 from the General Fund to Fund the Adult Perkins Grant, to be returned when funds are received from the grant consortium.

As part of the Superintendent’s Report, the board accepted and/or approved the following items:
•FMLA for Lisa Habibi beginning approximately February 13, 2017 and ending March 28, 2017.

•Nurse Aide Clinical Instructors for Adult Education as presented.

•To employ Judy Thrasher as a School Nurse Substitute.


•Certified Substitutes as presented.

•To extend Cathy Potts unpaid leave of absence to March 3, 2017.

•The Receipt of Notice of Application for Gordon Creek Granite for Property Tax Abatement through an Enterprise Zone Agreement as presented.

•The contract with the NWOESC for 21st Century Programming with Archbold Middle School.

•A donation from Todd Williams of 25 new hard hats to the Electrical Lab.

•Under Board Committee Reports, the Board received updates from: Legislative Liaison

Upcoming meetings involving members of the Four County Career Center Board of Education include the Policy Committee Meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by the regular February Board Meeting, both on February 16, 2017 in the Multi-Purpose Room at Four County Career Center.
