Frederick Russell, Sr., age 82, of Stryker, passed away on April 11, 2023, at the Toledo Hospital.
Fred worked as a supervisor at Ford Motor Company and ConAgra Food Products.
Fred was born on December 25, 1940 in Highland Park, MI, to the late Fred and Stephanie (Pawleszski) Russell Fred proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Fred loved rooting for all of the Detroit sports teams. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose Club, both in Bryan and Montpelier.
Surviving Fred is his son, Frederick (Michelle) Russell, Jr. of Stryker; son, Robert (Joyce) Russell of Stryker; daughter, Deanna (Marvin) Ankney of Stryker; grandchildren, Brandy (Drew), Jordan, Jace, Josh (Ivy), Amanda, Rodney, and Erica (Christian); 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Russell; and sister, Lyn Cheslin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Charles Orguso; nephew, Rick Petty; and former wife, Linda (Klink) Russell.
Visitation for Fred will take place on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Stryker United Methodist Church from 11am to 1pm. A funeral service will follow visitation at 1pm, with Pastor Nick Woodall officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Stryker Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Stryker American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Stryker United Methodist Church.
