Library 1 WEBThe Friends of the West Unity Library were honored at the 2015 West Unity Area Chamber of Commerce annual banquet with Chamber Merit Award. It was noted that the non-profit group works had and sacrifices for the betterment of the community. This summer, 100 children from in and around West Unity had the opportunity to participate in a special program that focused on everyday heroes. Every week through the summer the focus was to bring a healthy option for children to gather together, learn, productively foster and channel energy, as well as to develop friends. While this year has been one of the best for such programs, the Friends of the West Unity Library are already actively planning for the next summer program. Alongside developing such programs, the group also pulls together many other events in cooperation with the Chamber and special guests. Accepting the Chamber Merit Award on behalf of the Friends of the West Unity Library are: Ruth Meyer, Penny Van Vahlerah, Amanda Rice, and Dena Filip.
