A Swanton company has been awarded the bid for the restoration project on the Detwiler Manor in Wauseon.

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners followed the recommendation of Maintenance Supervisor Todd Bingham to award the job to Thomas Construction and

Remodeling LLC for $194,952. The company’s bid was in line with the county’s specs for the work, Bingham said.

All items for the job were bid, Bingham said.

Thomas Construction has done well in the past on jobs with the county, he said.

The other bids came in at $204,540 from E. Lee Construction and $285,738 from Rupp/Rosebrock. One firm came in beyond the 10 percent margin and were eliminated.

The county sought bids on asphalt and steel shingles, but steel was double the price and eliminated, Bingham said. At one time, steel was comparable to asphalt, but those prices have skyrocketed since then.

Only Rupp/Rosebrock bid on the steel shingles.

Thomas bid $67,764 for 30-year asphalt shingles.

In other actions, the board:

•Set a public hearing for 10:15 a.m. June 28 for the tax budget in the commissioners’ meeting room at 152 S. Fulton St., Wauseon.

•Approved Commissioner Jeff Rupp to be on the Fulton County Dangerous Wild Animal Response Team. His term will expire in April 2019.

•Approved a Community Development Block Grant to Joseph and Sharon Kolb of $29,986 to help them replace the roof at their building at 126 N. Fulton St., Wauseon.
