The Fulton County Commissioners met for their regular session on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an opening prayer and roll call, with all commissioners present.
Commissioners first moved through routine business, approving minutes from the October 23 meeting and the day’s agenda, which included one added resolution.
Payment of bills and appropriation requests across several departments was also approved unanimously.
Next, the board authorized a county credit card for Randy Mahlman and entered into several agreements for the coming year.
Among them were Contract 2025-94 with the Fulton County Emergency Management Agency for countywide services in 2026, and Contract 2025-95 with Parsons Excavating for Ditch Improvement Project 2152, known as the Rod Short Ditch. An indigent defense agreement, Contract 2025-96, was also approved with the Village of Metamora.
In other actions, commissioners approved a Community Development Block Grant job certification summary for Nature Fresh Farms. They accepted the resignation of a Senior Center employee before appointing a new Senior Center Director. Purchase orders and travel requests were also approved.
Budget hearings then followed, beginning with the OSU Extension Office. Representatives noted minimal changes for the coming year, citing an office support position adjustment due to retirement and the proposed addition of a summer program assistant.
The SNAP-Ed program concluded earlier this year, with the direct educator position transitioning out. Commissioners thanked the office for its continued service and educational outreach.
Auditor Brett Kolb presented his office’s budget next, reporting very few changes. He explained the addition of a state-required tax administration fee line within the general fund and noted that some salary lines decreased due to personnel changes. The board expressed appreciation for the auditor’s clarity and fiscal management.
The Fulton County Veterans Service Commission concluded the budget hearings, presenting a proposed 2026 budget totaling $713,877, down slightly from the 2025 figure of $718,686.42. Commissioners thanked the department for its continued support of county veterans.
With nothing further, the meeting adjourned at 10:19 a.m.
