Garold L. “Buck” Sager (1934 – 2017)

Garold L. “Buck” Sager, age 82, of Wauseon passed away Friday May 5, 2017 in his home following a lengthy illness. Prior to his retirement he had worked for Wauseon Parks and Recreation for several years. Prior to that he had also worked for Electra, German Village and the McCord Corporation.

Mr. Sager was born on October 31, 1934 in Liberty Center, Ohio the son of the late Vern and the late Ethel (Pacey) Sager. On February 20, 1955 he married the former Kay Verity and she survives. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring old Mustangs, spending time with his grandchildren and visiting with his neighbors.

Surviving besides his wife, Kay are children; Cindy (Jon) Featzka, Julie (Tom) Weber, Jeff (Jodi) Sager, Brenda (Loren) Krauss, Lori Dunning, Mike (Stephanie) Sager and Jenny (Scott) Vonier. Also surviving are grandchildren; Heather (Kyle) Ellis, Dustin (Jill) Featzka, Eric (Jen) Featzka, MacKenzie Featzka, Christine Weber, Jenna (Matt) Holzhauer, Brooke Weber, Sarah Weber, Josh (Andrea) Sager, Justin (Bethany) Sager, Tyler (Rachelle) Weirauch TJ and Travis Weirauch, Caleb and Caylee Sager and Alec, Ashton, Eli and Elvis Vonier and 17 great-grandchildren. A brother, Burl (Shirley) Sager survives. Preceding him in death besides his parents were brothers; Maurice, Lloyd, Dale, Paul and Clarence and sisters Jane Barlow and Henrietta Hillabrand and Grand-daughter; Jenna Lynn (Sager) McCance.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday May 10, 2017 at the Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon with Pastor Mary Jo Bray officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00pm. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Wauseon Fire and Rescue or Ohio Living Hospice, 1730 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, Ohio 43614. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.GrisierFH.com. The Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
