Geraldine D. Brown, age 86, of Delta, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 29, 2017.
She was born in Delta on April 29, 1931 to Clement E. Krieger and Althea (Young) Krieger. Geraldine was united in marriage to Kenneth “Budd” Brown on February 5, 1949 and he preceded her in death on January 23, 2015.
She was a member of the Church on Strayer Road in Maumee and Delta American Legion Post #373 Auxiliary. Geraldine enjoyed crocheting and was famous in the area for baking the best pies around. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Brown of Liberty Center; son, Keith (Ruth) Brown of Delta; sister, Judy (Gary) Baldwin of Napoleon; grandchildren, Michelle, Mindy, Benjamin, Clifford, Monte and Timothy; loving great grandchildren and special great grandson, Jay Vann.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 66 years, Kenneth; her son, Douglas E. Brown in 2013; brother, Eugene Krieger and sister, Pauline Krieger.
Friends will be received from 3-5 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta. A funeral service celebrating Geraldine’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday also at the funeral home. Pastor Tony Scott will be officiating. Private interment will be at Raker Cemetery in Delta.
