Geraldine Elsie WerderGeraldine Elsie Werder, age 101, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Genesis Health Care in Bryan, after a lengthy illness. Prior to her retirement she had been a music teacher for many years.

Geraldine was born in Stryker on December 27, 1914, the daughter of Wendell P. and Frances Ruth (Brickman) Grisier. On February 14, 1940 she married Ira Werder, and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Stryker United Methodist Church. A graduate of Stryker High School she had also attended Bowling Green State University.

Surviving are sisters, Margaret Miller of Montpelier, Jeanne (Ronald) Robinson of Stryker, Barbradyne (Lon) Hall of Toledo; granddaughter, Erica Werder; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira; three sons, Frederick (Larry), Arlen, and Jerold. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William and Donald Grisier, and one sister, Marilyn (Carl) Crosby.

Visitation for Geraldine will be held from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Grisier Funeral Home, 109 S. Defiance St. in Stryker. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 P.M., with the Rev. Dane Meuschke, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Stryker.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Stryker United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com
