DELTA (January 4, 2025) – When both teams are on less than a 24 hour turnaround from the night before, you never know what you are gonna get.

What Delta got, and what Stryker was on the receiving end of was the Panthers’ Addison Wyse barrage of offensive moves, as the Delta sophomore scored a career-high 20, to lead her team to a 45-29 win over Stryker.

“She definitely picked it up today,” Delta coach Kelsey Gillen said of Wyse. “We knew that was in her. It has been a rough time for her with everything else going on, losing her dad, and she finally found it tonight. She was able to go out there and work.”

“She thought she had a bad game, that’s not a bad game. She finally got that confidence, and I was glad she was able to do that today, she needed it.”

After Kendall Sprow scored off the opening tip four seconds into the contest, Wyse connected on a back and forth spin move in the key, a corner three-ball, and a fast break hoop from Abbey Todd to boost Delta up 13-4 after a quarter.

Wyse added a turnaround power move and her second triple of the day to increase Delta’s advantage to 23-10 by halftime, but the scrappy Stryker Panthers got back into the contest in the third.

Reiss Creighton hit jumpers from the foul line, baseline, the right wing and scored on a leak out with 2.0 on the clock around an Abby Oberlin three-pointer to slice Delta’s lead to 32-25 after the third.

Anna Donovan’s putback with 5:00 left again got Stryker within seven at 34-27, but Delta rattled off the next nine to put the game away.

Wyse started the barrage with a stick back, Keagyn Gillen found McKenzie Kruger slashing down the key, Todd got a layup off the press and Anna Lohman scored on an out-of-bounds play to help open the margin to 43-27.

Lohman added 14 to Wyse’s big game. Creighton led Stryker with 12. Delta hosts Bryan on Friday at 530 in a huge NWOAL game for both teams.

STRYKER (29) – Froelich 8; Oberlin 5; Creighton 12; Clemens 0; Donovan 0; Fulk 0; Totals: 11-1-4 – 29
DELTA (45) – Lohman 14; Todd 2; Kruger 2; Friess 0; Sprow 5; Wyse 20; K. Gillen 2; Totals: 17-2-5 – 45
