GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Edgerton Picks Up First Win Of Season; Archbold & Hilltop Remain Unbeaten

Archbold 44, Ayersville 29

DEFIANCE – Archbold (6-0) forced 29 Ayersville (1-5) turnovers and shook off a slow start for the win in the semifinals of the Defiance Physical Therapy Classic.

Freshman Klaire Kern hit five triples to pace the Streaks, who meet Tinora tonight in the finals, with 17 points.

WEST UNITY – Hilltop exploded for a 23-7 third quarter to put the game away as they improved to 6-0 after a 58-38 win over Hicksville (1-4).

Libbie Baker hit for 24 points to lead the scoring for the Cadets and Molly Dickinson joined her in double figures with a dozen.

Stryker 28, North Central 13

PIONEER – The Panthers (3-2) defense stymied North Central (2-3) in the second half, holding them to just one field goal and three points in a 28-13 nonconference win.

Stryker’s Grace Froelich and Aubrey Clemens were each in double digits with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

WAUSEON – The Indians held a 14-1 advantage at the free throw line to help them move to 4-1 on the season with a 45-31 win.

Mack Stasa led all scorers with 15 points while Johanna Tester and Sophia Rupp each had nine.

Edgerton 48, Bryan 45

EDGERTON – The Bulldogs led most of the night before having to stave off the Golden Bears (3-3) in the fourth quarter for a48-45 victory.

Alivia Farnham fronted Edgerton (1-5) with 18, including going 6/8 at the foul line in the final frame, and Casey Everetts knocked down three from long range on her way to a 13-point night.

Bryan’s Josey Arnold drilled six triples and totaled a game-high 22 points with Averyann Fisher adding 10.
