Gloria Ramirez (1950 – 2023)

Gloria Jean Ramirez, age 73, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, November 30, 2023, at the Spring Meadows Extended Care Center in Holland.

She was born on January 22, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio to Paul and Herminia (Marroquin) Ramirez.

Gloria was a 1968 graduate of Notre Dame Academy. She went on to pursue higher education at The Ohio State University. In 1978, she proudly graduated with a degree in Business.

Her educational background laid the foundation for her successful career as a customer service operations manager at Concentrix (formerly Convergys).

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Gloria had a passionate interest in sports. She was an avid fan of both The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Her enthusiasm for these teams knew no bounds, and she was often found enthusiastically cheering them on during games. Gloria also loved to play poker. She spent many hours in the poker room when she was able.

Gloria’s family played an important role in her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Herminia “Minnie” Ramirez.

Gloria is survived by her father, Paul; siblings, Sue Fair of Sarasota, FL;  Paul (Elaine) Ramirez Jr. of Swanton, OH; Jane (Mel) Overholser of Oregon, OH; Janette Manuel of Swanton, OH; Deb (Frank) Pokornik of Perrysburg, OH; Mike Ramirez of Austin, TX; and Jim (Monica) Ramirez of Towson, MD. Additionally, she leaves behind several nieces and nephews whose lives were enriched by their aunt’s presence.

In memory of Gloria Ramirez, friends and family will gather in celebration of her life to be announced at a later date.
