EDGERTON – For the Tinora Rams, it was the comeback for the ages and in the regular season and Green Meadows Conference finale against Edgerton, the Rams rallied from a 30-6 halftime deficit to stun the Bulldogs, 34-30, at Stauffer Field.
Both teams also advanced into the state football playoffs, which begins this Friday night. No. 9 Edgerton (6-4, 3-4 GMC) will visit No. 8 Edon (8-2) in a rematch of the season opener in which the Bulldogs prevailed, 41-14, in a Division VII, Region 26 matchup.
No. 12 Tinora (5-5, 5-2 GMC) faces GMC archrival No. 5 seed Fairview (9-1) in an opening round battle in Division VI, Region 22 in another regular season rematch which was won by the Apaches, 49-28, on September 19.
Edgerton had raced out to a 21-0 first quarter lead with quarterback Maddox Baker throwing a pair of scoring tosses to Mason Elden (22 yards) and Kellen Sanchez (five yards) while also running for another score from six yards out.
