Gordon S. Robey, 79 years, of West Unity passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Center- Bryan Hospital.
Gordon was born January 31, 1938 in Tipton, Michigan, the son of the late George and Eva (Loachridge) Robey.
He was a 1956 graduate of Fayette High School. Following high school, Gordon served in the United States Marine Corps. Gordon Married Frankie C. Jermeay on August 24, 1962 in Bryan Ohio, and she survives. He worked as a tool crib attendant at Hayes Albion for 18 years and most recently at Spangler Candy Company for over 36 years. In his free time, Gordon enjoyed reading, watching basketball and football, and most importantly spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Frankie of West Unity; two children, Bonnie (Neil) Oberlin of Stryker, and Tina (Greg Mull) Robey of Pioneer; five grandchildren, Nicholas Oberlin, Breanna Oberlin, Joel Robey, Devin Miller, and Ryan Miller; two great-grandchildren, Mordekai Miller and Emersyn Miller; one sister, Norma Gentit of Stryker, and one brother, Lloyd Robey of Waldron, Michigan. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Jessica Oberlin, and one sister Mabel Westlund.
To honor Gordon’s wishes there will be a memorial service held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, West Unity.
