Greg R. Stine, age 62, of Liberty Center, peacefully passed away under hospice care, Sunday evening, April 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Adrian, Michigan on January 31, 1962 to the late Hal R. Stine and Sandra (Parrill) Stine who survives.
After graduating high school from Pike-Delta-York, he entered the U.S Army; where he served from 1982 – 1984. Greg’s working career began with Bunting Bearings in Delta and Sheller – Globe in Wauseon.
He later served as a mechanic and manager at Belle Tire and Pep Boys in Port Huron, MI and recently Sears Automotive Department and Brake Masters in California.
He also was a wrecker operator and enjoyed using his talents in remodeling homes. Greg loved working on vehicles, camping, manicuring his lawn, always being available to lend a hand and most of all spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Delta American Legion Post #373. He is survived by his mother, Sandra A. Stine; life partner, Patty Smith; son, Nicholas R. Stine of Port Huron, MI; daughter, Crystal (Jay) Carpenter of Perrysburg, OH; bonus children, Patrick (Velina) Smith of Bowling Green, Ohio and Josh Smith of Delta; grandchildren, Charlotte Stine, JR Waltenburg, Preston, Avery, Charlotte, Porter, Delilah and Paisley Smith; four sisters and two brothers.
Friends may visit from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta. A funeral service celebrating Greg’s life will begin at 12:00 Noon on Thursday also at the funeral home with military rites provided by the Fulton County Honor Guard. Pastor Joy Hester will be officiating. Interment will be at Winameg Cemetery near Delta at a later date.
