Harry Bruner (1931-2021)

Harry Edward Bruner age 90 of Delta, OH passed away Monday, June 21, 2021at the Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance where he was a resident for a very short time. Harry was born in Metamora, OH on February 1, 1931, to the late Dwight Bruner & Letta (Meyers) Bruner.

He graduated from Pettisville High School 1949 and married Jacquelyn Louise Spahr on November 1, 1952. She was his wife of 67 years until she passed in 2020. He was a life-long member of Christ United Methodist Church in Wauseon, OH. He was an Army Veteran and served from 1955-1957.

He farmed his land in Delta near Winameg & worked at Sheridan Manufacturing in Wauseon at the same time. He enjoyed being an assistant scoutmaster leader in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 72 of Delta, OH for several years & earned the Award of Merit which is the highest award given to volunteers.  Later he received the Silver Beaver Award in 1989.

During his retired years he enjoyed RVing with his wife and traveled with the Family Campers & RVers club.


He is survived by his brother Clarence Bruner, his sister Doris (Bruner) Ruhlin and his and Jacquelyn’s children; Lyn (Sue) Bruner, Jon (Jenny) Bruner, Ken (Jadine) Bruner, Gay (Billy) McFadden and Lee (Diane) Bruner; grandchildren, Gwen(Matt)Boughton, Cassondra (Joel) Norden, Andrew (Samantha) Bruner, Jared (Rachel) Bruner, Erica (Don) Daniels, Shane (Alyssa) Bruner, Gayl (Fredy) Bassette, Billy Jr, (Jacline) McFadden, Linda (Joe) Bogantes, Megan (Jason) Debbe and Blake Bruner; great grandchildren, Keegan and Jaxon Boughton, Freya and Eliza Norden, Michael Bruner, Mason, Ashlyn, and Winston Daniels, Harrison and Henry Bruner, Tristan and Sonya Bassette, Charles, Sofhia, Billy III and Chelsea McFadden and Chloe Venable.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.  A memorial service celebrating Harry’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Christ United Methodist Church, 215 N. Fulton St. Wauseon, Ohio 43567. Interment will be at Winameg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Christ United Methodist Church in his memory.
