Harry D. Elkington, age 76, of Delta, passed away at Heartland of Wauseon Saturday evening, August 15, 2015. He was born in Toledo on November 5, 1938 to the late Harold Elkington and Hazel (Webster) Elkington and was raised by his loving grandmother, Edith Elkington. On November 14, 1959 he married the love of his life, Kathleen Hohenbrink and she preceded him in death in 1986.
Harry was employed for over 30 years with Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass before retiring. One of his fondest hobbies included being a member for many years of the “Fast Draw” club.
He is survived by his children, Paula Keener of Florida, Tim (Teri) Elkington of McClure and Becky (Don) Schmidlin of Delta; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Friends may visit from 10:00 – 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta; where a funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be considered to Heartland Hospice, 3450 W. Central Ave, Suite 230, Toledo, Ohio 43606 in Harry’s memory. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Heartland of Wauseon for all the care and personal touch given to our dad during his stay.
