Helen Sanders (1940 – 2024)

(Retired From Bard Manufacturing In Bryan)

Helen E. Sanders, 84, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Bryan Healthcare & Rehabilitation.

Helen was born on August 17, 1940, in Harrogate, Tennessee, daughter of the late Ellis O. and Effie M. (Harkins) Russell.

She married Frederick A. “Fred” Sanders on March 17, 1959, in St. Marys, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2023. Helen was employed as a custodian at Bard Manufacturing in Bryan for over 35 years, retiring in 2002.


She was a founding member of Eastland Baptist Church. Helen enjoyed traveling and camping with Fred over the years, and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her two children, Debra (David) Kepler-Miller of Bryan, and Allen (Cindy) Sanders of Pineville, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Alan) Audette of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Renee (Tyler) Easter of Batavia, Ohio, Chet (Renee) Kepler of El Cajon, California, Candace (Brandon) Caudill of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Fred (Nora) Sanders III, of Bryan; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elsie Fortner of Mansfield, Ohio.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; a son-in-law, Steve Kepler; and three sisters, Genevia Russell, Jean Huddleston, and Lois Fortner.


Visitation for Helen E. Sanders will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at Eastland Baptist Church, 1229 East High Street Bryan, Ohio 43506. A celebration of life service for Helen will immediately follow in the church beginning at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Jeff Sheldon officiating. Inurnment will follow in Brown Cemetery, Bryan.

Memorial contributions can be directed to Eastland Baptist Church. Condolences may be sent to the family, or the online guestbook may be signed at www.oberlinturnbull.com.
