BASEBALL

Hicksville 1 Hilltop 0

WEST UNITY – The Aces used two pitchers to hold Hilltop to just four hits as they won a pitcher’s duel 1-0. Hicksville generated the game’s only run in the fourth inning with a single and then a Hilltop error.

EDON – Paulding broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the fourth and added an insurance run in the seventh to get a 4-2 win at Edon.

Ethan Steinke went 2-4 for the Bombers with a single and double while Kyler Sapp registered an RBI.

EDGERTON – The Bulldogs scored at least four runs in each inning as they cruised to the non-league win over Pettisville 19-0.

Four Edgerton players had two hits each on the night as part of a 13-hit game with Cory Herman leading the way in RBIs with three.

MONTPELIER – Tinora jumped to a 6-1 lead after two innings and rolled to a 10-2 win to stay perfect on the season at 11-0.

Cole Commisso got the win on the mound for the Rams and was 2-4 at the dish with 2 RBIs. Easten Richmond topped the Locos hitting with three singles.

Holly Jermeay added a single and three RBIs for the Cadets and Kacy Connolly clubbed a double and knocked in two runs.

Edon 6 North Central 4 (10 innings)

PIONEER –An error and two singles led to three Edon runs in the tenth inning of a 6-4 nonconference win at North Central.

Natalie Wofford tossed all ten innings in the circle for Edon and she added two singles and an RBI.

North Central tied the game in the bottom of the seventh to force extra frames thanks to an RBI single by Makinzy King.

EDGERTON –Corinne Cape reached base on an error and would eventually score on a sacrifice fly by Casey Everetts to give Edgerton a 6-5 walk-off win over Pettisville.

Everetts hit a two-run homer earlier in the game and finished with five RBIs on the night.

Liz Rochert had a 3-4 game at the plate with four RBIs for the Blackbirds.

WALDRON – Four of Fayette’s five hits were for extra bases while Jada Reinking and Alexus McClain each drove in three runs to lead Fayette to their first win of season 8-3.

Emma Leininger for the Eagles giving up just two hits in game one of a doubleheader.

The night cap saw the Spartans put 12 runs on the board in their first at-bat on their win to a 19-9 win in five innings.

Leininger went deep for the Eagles and knocked in three runs while Reinking was 2-2 and batted in a pair of runs
