STRYKER: May 08– The Hilltop Lady Cadets concluded the 2014 regular season in the BBC on May 8 on the road at Stryker with a sharp 7-1 victory over the host Lady Panthers.  With the win, the Lady Cadets moved to 9-1 on the regular season in the conference to finish a game up on Pettisville and claim the title.  Hilltop stands at 15-6 on the season.

For the Lady Cadets in the win, Bailey Funkhouser went the distance, throwing 7 innings and allowing just 1 earned run off of 4 hits while setting down 4 Lady Panthers in the win.

Offensively for the Lady Cadets, Brittany Mocherman had a huge day at the plate, going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s; Shayla Coffman also went 1 for 4 but connected for a huge double, driving in 2 runs.  Allie Schmitt and Hannah Bleikamp also stepped up with RBI’s in the team victory. Sydney Schmitt rounded out the production from the plate with a hit in the game.

On the mound for the Lady Panthers, Conner Varner took the loss, allowing 5 earned runs off of 6 Lady Cadet hits.  At the plate for Stryker, Taylor Haines was able to drive in  the lone run for the Lady Panthers.

Stryker concludes its 2014 BBC campaign with a 4-6 mark and sits at 6-12 on the season.
