Ilo M. Cryer-Messner (1920-2012)

Ilo M. Cryer-Messner, 92 of Montpelier died Friday evening at her home.  She was born on March 15, 1920 to Frank W. and Mabel (Bowen) Pitts in Paulding County Ohio.  Ilo graduated from Kunkle High School.

Ilo was a member of the Solid Rock Community Church in West Unity.  She was a dedicated homemaker and farmers wife in Bridgewater Township for many years.  She always enjoyed driving tractors.

She is survived by two sons, Allen (Angie) Cryer and Dean (Suzanne) Cryer both of Montpelier, two step sons Jerry Messner of Montpelier and James (Dee) Messner of Lake Havasu City Arizona, three grandchildren, Lynne Buehrer, Lisa Gericke and Kelly Livensparger, six great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Ilo was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Howard “Hodge” Cryer, second husband Paul J. Messner, two brothers John and Robert Pitts, one sister Pauline Rutledge and one grandson Kevin Cryer.

Visitation hours for Ilo will be from 11 am -2 pm Tuesday November 27th at the Solid Rock Community Church in West Unity.  Services will be at 2 pm at the church with Pastor James Mays and Nelson Rupp to officiate.  Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.  Donations may be made to Solid Rock Community Church.  Online condolences can be made at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
