Irene GabetIrene Gabet, 85, went to Heaven Thursday, June 16, 2016, with her family by her side. Born in Montpelier, Ohio she was the daughter of the late James and Viola (Mann) Tressler. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. She loved to serve others actively through the Rosary Sodality, the New Haven Women’s Club, Allen County Homemakers Extension, and was a member of the World War II Allen County Havenettes. She found great joy being involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives.

She is survived by her children, Gregory (Molly) Gabet, Joseph (Ann) Gabet, Francis (Maria) Gabet, Leisa (Richard) Fredbloom, Mary (Tom) Didier, and Andrea (Darryl) Miracle all of Fort Wayne, Margaret Gabet, and Linda (Wade) Heddens both of New Haven; 29 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gabet in 1998; daughter, Catherine Gabet in 2013; and siblings, Ruth Schlegal, Marie Rhoades, and George Tressler.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Calling is also 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a prayer vigil at 4:45 p.m. Burial in the church cemetery.
