Ivan Moor (1997-2020)

Ivan Cory Moor, 22, of Montpelier passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He was born on November 3, 1997 in Bryan to Mike C. and Dena M. (Baker) Moor. Ivan graduated from Montpelier High School in 2016, and attended Bowling Green State University.

Ivan attended the First Presbyterian Church in Montpelier. He was a member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge. Ivan was very proud to have worked for Powers and Sons for the past 1 ½ years.

He loved animals, he had recently adopted an Australian Shepard puppy named Courage and Fancy Bearded Dragon named Hades. He had a love for his friends, “Band of Brothers,” music and playing trumpet. Ivan was organ donor and was able to touch five different lives.

He is survived by his parents Mike and Dena Moor of Montpelier; siblings Stacie (Dakota Batt) Moor of Fayette, Katelynn N. Moor, Christopher “Beefy” Moor, Michael R. Moor all of Montpelier; paternal grandparents Anna (Junior) Quick of Martinsville, Indiana and Dan I. Moor of Bryan; maternal grandparents Madonna (James) Recore of Montpelier and Sherman (Linda) Baker of Cambria, Michigan; paternal great grandparent Anna Brust of Martinsville, Indiana; and two nieces.

Ivan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Daniel Holland.

A gathering of friends and family will be on Wednesday, June 10th from 2-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A graveside service will be on Thursday at 11am at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier with Pastor Mike Martinelli and Pastor Levi Suffel to officiate.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family to go towards a trust fund for his brother Michael.  If you have been feeling ill, we ask that you send a card or leave a condolence online. Those wishing to attend are asked to observe appropriate social distancing and masks are encouraged, but not required.

    I only had the joy of meeting Ivan and Courage a few months ago. I knew from the first time he was a good soul. My heart goes out to you, please take good care of yourselves
