nicolenJacob A. Nicolen, 37, of Pioneer, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Community Hospitals & Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born on March 25, 1979 in Montpelier to Charles “Chuck” and Christine (Tressler) Nicolen. Jacob graduated from Edon High School and he attended House of Prayer Church in Montpelier. On July 11, 2009 he married Shaleena F. Collins at Sonrise Community Church in Ney, Ohio and she survives.

Jacob is survived by his wife, Shaleena F. Nicolen of Pioneer; two children, Brayden Nicolen and Makayla Nash both of Pioneer; mother, Christine D. Smith of Napoleon; brother, Josh Nicolen of Edgerton; grandmother, Theresa Nicolen of Montpelier; one nephew and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles “Chuck” Nicolen; sister, Alexandria “Lexie” Andres; maternal grandparents, Jacob “Jr” and Lucille Tressler; and paternal grandfather Don Nicolen.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. Memorials may be made in Jacob’s memory to his family. Online condolences can be left at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
