James “J.R.” Bavin

James “J.R.” Bavin, 46 of Bryan passed away Tuesday, September 6th at home. He was born on September 26, 1969 in Freeport, Texas to James “Jimmy” and Francile (Castle) Kinard. J.R. attended Brazosport High School in Texas. He was a very active member of Second Baptist Church in Defiance, Ohio at one time.

He is survived by his husband Christopher Bavin of Bryan, Ohio; past partner Gene Zuver of Defiance; children, Kaitlynn Bavin and Garrett Bavin of Montpelier, and Kaitlyn Zuver and Logan Zuver of Bryan; one sister Debi (Armando Garza) Landers; two brothers, Grover (Val) Hargrove, Jr. and Paul (Helen) Roushia; nieces Xandavia Landers, Morgan (Jose Guerrero) Garza, Elisabeth (Levi Billau) Smith, Michelle (Michael) Hartman, Janet Guzmanlopez, Shiela (Obed) Melendez, Gabriella Roushia, and Rachel Hargrove; nephews, Taylor (Colin Brumlow) Landers, Curtis (Heather) Smith, Matthew (Maranda) Smith, Samuel (Brittany) Smith, and Brian Curtis (Ginny Milfurd) Hargrove; and seventeen great nieces and nephews.

J.R. was preceded in death by his parents and sister Donna Kay Hargrove.

A private family visitation was held at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to help defray expenses. Condolences can be left at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com
