Jean Marie (Myers) Hasselschwert, age 89, a longtime resident of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017.
Since April 2016 she had been a resident of Middleton Senior Living in Granville, Ohio. Jean was a homemaker and the owner of The Plaza Shoe Box in Wauseon.
Born on July 27, 1928 in Liberty Center, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Bernice Myers. On August 7, 1948, she married Richard Hasselschwert and they were married for 64 years. She was an active member of St. Caspar Catholic Church and served her community in numerous ways. Jean enjoyed traveling, spending summers at Clear Lake, and was an avid reader.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her brothers, Robert and Don, sister, Joan Reimund and son-in-law, Jerry Turney. She is survived by her six daughters, Beth (Joe) Vanderson of Dublin, Ohio, Brenda (Steve) Case of Archbold, Ohio, Jane (Ray) Kuthy of Iowa City, Iowa, Janice (Stephen) Schroeder of Johnstown, Ohio, Judy Turney of Mason, Ohio and Jennifer (Paul) Ruess of Powell, Ohio. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 1 step granddaughter and 15 great grandchildren.
