Jerry Goeltzenleuchter (1940 – 2024)

(1958 Graduate Of Bryan High School)

Jerry F. Goeltzenleuchter, 83, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, in his residence, with his family at his side.

Jerry was born December 4, 1940, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of the late Louis and Virginia (Haase) Goeltzenleuchter.

He was a 1958 graduate of Bryan High School. He married Linda Kemp on March 10, 1973, and she survives. Jerry began his working career at the Bryan Roller Rink.

Jerry was employed by Spangler Candy Company as a machine maintenance man for 46 years, retiring in 2004. Jerry enjoyed camping, playing cards, bowling, roller skating and golfing. He truly loved to spend time with his family and friends.


Surviving is his wife, Linda of Bryan; three children, Beth (Adam) Roberts of Oregon, Ohio, David (Dawn) Goeltzenleuchter of Edgerton, Ohio, and Jan (Brian) Gower of Findlay, Ohio; ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Louis (Nancy) Goeltzenleuchter of Palm Harbor, Florida; two sisters, Susan Miller of Jonesville, Michigan and Mariel Perkins of Bryan, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Daniel; two brothers, Larry, and David Goeltzenleuchter.

Private graveside funeral services will be held in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan with Pastor Kevin Doseck officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan.


In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
