John Kris Henricks, of Delta, Ohio, passed away on March 15, 2026, at Toledo Hospital from complications following surgery.
He was born on December 17, 1956, the fourth child of the late James G. Henricks and Marilyn J. (Kurth) Henricks. John was a 1975 graduate of Delta High School and later furthered his education by studying Culinary Arts and Business at Hocking College in Ohio.
He spent many years working in the automotive industry, where he especially enjoyed working on classic cars. John was proud to be a member of the Delta Fraternal Order of Eagles and found great joy in spending time with his family and many cherished friends.
He was an avid fisherman and bird-watcher, a naturally gifted artist and cook, and enjoyed gardening. John had a true passion for hunting morel mushrooms, a pastime he loved sharing with others.
He is survived by his daughters, Kara (Lashley) Henricks of Wilmington, NC and Kacee Henricks of New Britain, CT; three grandchildren, Kade Lashley, Hunter MacDonald, and Oonah Lashley; brothers, Robert Henricks and Timothy Henricks; and sister, Laurie (Michael) Fitzpatrick. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, as well as their children.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, David Henricks; sister, Linda Wile; his first wife, Kaylin Miller; and his nephew, Allen Henricks.
Friends and family may gather for a time of visitation from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, March 20, 2026, at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 State Highway 109, Delta, Ohio, where a memorial service celebrating John’s life will begin at noon Friday. Pastor Chuck Whitmire will be officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Delta Eagles to continue sharing memories and fellowship.
